Siesta Motel

This place deserves ALL the stars! Incredibly clean rooms, truly thoughtful amenities, special touches throughout (nice art! tasteful blankets! cool mirrors!) and friendly and helpful staff, who were wonderfully communicative. And... pet friendly! Why on earth would anyone support a massive hotel chain where your money goes to some CEO, when you can support a family-run business like this where the owners clearly care and the money stays in our community? From now on, all of my out-of-town visitors are staying here. Thanks, Siesta Motel, for reminding us how it's supposed to be done. (And chef's kiss for the delicious in-room pour-over coffee!)

We had an incredible stay. Every detail was so intentionally done, from the local drip coffee and fresh cream in the fridge to the filtered water station and thoughtfully equipped kitchenette with dishes, a microwave, toaster, and all the essentials. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. It truly felt elevated but still cozy and welcoming. The location couldn’t have been better, walkable, convenient, and perfectly situated for exploring. You can tell so much care went into the renovation. We’ll absolutely be back.

The Siesta Motel is an amazing spot to stay at! We came in from out of town and this spot has everything around it :) Stores, great food and the densest is amazing! The staff is fantastic and we will absolutely be coming back! We did a king bed with kitchenette and its perfect size! :) thank you for such a great wxperience

We booked this place through hotels.com. I was impressed with the reviews and the cost of the stay in comparison to those around. (It’s Polar Express time and you know everyone raises their prices.) Check in is at 4, but we arrived at 2. We called the phone number posted on the door and the owners/managers promptly responded and were able to accommodate us. They followed up via text providing additional amenity information. (As a side note, they were really good about proactively communicating policies and information about the property.) Our room was clean (!), so cute, and great aesthetic and functional touches were evident throughout the room. Concrete floors are helpful for those who partake in outdoor activities too. They have filtered water and pour over coffee. Everything was/is awesome. We will definitely stay here again!

I love this place! The rooms are comfortable and cute! They let us use a dog bed that my dog loved! Nice amenities and very cute property. The owner is so nice and helped me out several times. She even mailed an item that I left in the room. Definitely stay here!

I highly recommend the Siesta Motel! We were incredibly impressed with their flexibility regarding our changing schedule, and their communication via text was very kind and amenable. The rooms were spotlessly clean, very well-kept, and showed excellent attention to detail. They truly make you feel like a close friend is staying, rather than just a transient visitor. We thoroughly enjoyed our overall stay.

Excellent locally owned motel. Staying at a locally owned place keeps more money in the local economy. Lovely and helpful staff. Photos and description are accurate. Room was clean and comfortable. Having a fridge with freezer and a microwave to heat up our leftovers really enhanced our stay. Great location -convenient to downtown, grocery, and Durango Hot Springs. Loved the pour over coffee. Highly prefer this to a coffee maker in the room that who knows how long since the basket and the water chamber have been disinfected. Siesta Motel is now our go-to place to stay in Durango. Just book it!

Stayed one night for the Polar Express train with my kiddo. I normally prefer short term rentals, but after my stay here, I've completely changed my mind. Everything was comfortable, clean, and totally charming. Beds were comfortable, and we appreciated the white noise machine/night light. Customer service was warm and friendly and responded quickly to all questions. Very accomodating. Family friendly spot and location was perfect. From the decor to amenities, there's no reason to pay double or triple the price to stay in a strangers basement- we felt right at home here!
